Experience

I tutored Algebra and Algebra 2 students in high school and am currently a theatre tutor at Ashland University. I was one of the highest ranked students in my Algebra 1 & 2 classes. I would like to be a tutor because I understand that there are students out there that may not learn the same way as others and may have a different approach to learning and I enjoy getting to know how a student learns and using that approach when I tutor. I feel the first step to overcoming any challenges that a student may be having in a subject is to find out what rate they learn at, as well as how they approach learning. I know I personally needed to know "why" rather than just "how" when I was learning about something new or else I never fully comprehended and retained the information I was learning. I also belive a lot of it deals with how a student retains the information. Once you figure out the easiest way to remember what you are learning, it becomes fairly simple, just as long as you take the time to actually do the work. Every Winter and Spring, I teach 8th grade theatre and music students about theatre makeup at South Amherst Middle School for their Spring musical. I also, tutor high school students in Algebra 1 & 2 whenever I have free time. I currently hold an Associate of Arts degree from Lorain County Community College and am pursuing a Bachelors degree at Ashland University. I am very outgoing and work with people of all ages.
